- Open Question: Worried about induction?

40 weeks and no signs of labour : Im 40+3 weeks and I am booked for induction on Sunday. A gel is going to be used to dialate the cervix. Im just worried if my labour will go on for a long time or if the gel will effect the baby. The doc said that there is a chance of it effecting the baby and that it will be monitored but im still scared. Also i have had no labour signs at all is this normal at 40 weeks

40 weeks and no signs of labour : Im nearly 40 weeks pregnant (due on friday) and yesterday i had back ache on and off throughout the day, my lower back then felt really tight but there was no pain at this point, ive had a few aching pains on my stomach but no show n no other signs i could be close to going into labour! any thoughts?

Like did your sixth sense kick in and say today i am gonna go into labour or i feel like i am gonna go into labour? On a side note is it normal to have severe breast tenderness at the end of your pregnancy, i always knew it was normal at the beginning but i didn't know about at the end. i'm 40 weeks tomorrow and periodically my breasts hurt like i am engorged an

Last night and also this morning I have been getting the occasional twinge/pain roughly in the area where my cervix is. Does anyone know what this could be? It's different to Braxton Hicks as I have been getting those occasionally for about a month now. When I get these twinges my abdomen doesn't go hard or anything so I dont think its contractions (or is it?) Do you think this could be my cervix dialating?? Has anyone else ha

40 weeks and no signs of labour : I am 40 weeks today, this is my second baby. My first was induced at 38 weeks due to IUGR. I was expecting that I would go early, don't know why and now I am nearly overdue tomorrow. I lost my mucus plug a month ago, then nothing happened and it must have made itself back up again, as it is now coming away again. Not bloody though just clear. Does this mean anything, I know and understand that the mucus plug coming away does not necessarily mean I am going into labour right away but its c

I still have the back ache and no bath or anything has been able to get rid of it. I havent had a show nor have my waters broke.I havnt had any sign that this baby wants to come out at all. 40 weeks and no signs of labour : hi im due monday 3rd dec and thursday i was getting either braxton hicks or contractions all day from 9am untill i went to bed, by evening they were further apart, all yesterday i been in a lot of pain and immense aching down there and then they came back again around 4 and been getting them ever since but started off regular 7 mins but at 10.00 started to come less frequant again. i been getting them all night still but now havent had one for a while. do you think this could be slow labour? o

40 weeks and no signs of labour : And my doctor says my cervix isnt even soft yet and that we will probally have to look into inducing at 41 weeks.The baby hasnt dropped yet and is quite large. 40 weeks and no signs of labour : ill be 40 weeks tomorrow and woke up this morn with the feeling of an upset stomach...abit sickly and diarreah (excuse the spelling)!!! also when i wiped there was what looked like the result of someone blowing their nose on the tissue...abit thicker than norm and slightly gooey but clear. do u think these r signs that my body getting ready for labour or is an upset stomach cause for concern?? sorry if too much info but had to ask!!

I went for awalk today with my mum and felt a few sharpe pains under my belly which were abit more painful than the pains Ive had over the last few weeks. I have also had what felt like period pains in my back for the past week but my baby seems to still be quite active and not slowing down,although she has been engaged for 3 weeks and I can feel her pushing down she seems a bit to comfy.Was this an early sign or is it just braxston hicks

40 weeks and no signs of labour : My baby was breech up until recently, then turned anterior, then turned posterior (all my kicking was up front and high.) Now, i'm getting kicks ALL over the place and i can't work out what are hands, feet, knees, bum, back, etc, etc. I have had some severe prods "down below" which is now making me panic as it is either feet down there again, or he is poking me with his hands (either way, not a good sign!). 40 weeks and no signs of labour : I am 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant for the last 2 weeks I have been having cramps and feeling a lot of pressure down below, I was also very tired, convinced I was going into labour every night, however today I have woken up full of energy, little movement from baby! no pain at all or braxton hicks, I feel relatively unpregnant much easier to move around etc is this normal? I don't feel much different to when I was 36 weeks gone (apart from being bigger etc!) but I know labour is around the corner. Did you feel like you knew it was going to happen or did you feel the same as me and then went into labour or your waters broke and took you by surprise? 40 weeks and no signs of labour : I am 40 weeks and 1 day. Yesterday I had an internal and then 15 hours later had a bloody show. I know it might just be from the cervix getting irritated during the internal, but am hopeful that it also might be a prelabour sign. I am only 1cm dilated. I am wondering if anyone has had a bloody show following an internal in late pregnancy? If so, how long after this happened did labour start? I am on bedrest right now-on the wait list for induction due to high blood pressure so cannot do an
