- Open Question: non bf moms please... how long did it take to lose the weight..?
(Mon, 17 Sep 2007 00:14:12 GMT)
Maternity clothes : How long did it take for you to lose the weight you gained during pregnancy? I am not able to breastfeed for medical reasons. I know it's easier to lose the weight when you breast feed but I am not able to. I had my daughter almost 4 weeks ago. I have lost 27 pounds so far but I gained 45 pounds. I was a size four before pregnancy ( my mom had the idea of taking me shopping to cheer me up, I only fit into a size 14 cuz of my hips) I gained alot of my weight in my hips and some in my back. I am not trying to be vain or anything but I am tired of wearing maternity clothes but I don't want to go out and buy clothes if I am going to lose the weight in a few weeks but I don't know if I will. Were you able to fit back into your pre pregnancy jeans? Thanks for the comments in advance. the 27 pounds that I lost included the birth and the water and everything else. I am not dieting at all, who has time with a newborn to count caloried..lol
- Open Question: This struck a chord with me!!!?
(Sun, 16 Sep 2007 23:46:52 GMT)
Maternity clothes : Yes, parenthood changes everything. But parenthood also changes with each baby. Here, some of the ways having a second and third child differs from having your first: Your Clothes -1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy. -2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible. -3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes. The Baby's Name -1st baby: You pore over baby-name books and practice pronouncing and writing combinations of all your favorites. -2nd baby: Someone has to name his or her kid after your great-aunt Mavis, right? It might as well be you. -3rd baby: You open a name book, close your eyes, and see where your finger points. Preparing for the Birth -1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously. -2nd baby: You don't bother practicing because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing. -3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your 8th month. The Layette -1st baby: You pre-wash your newborn's clothes, color- coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau. -2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains. -3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they? Worries -1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby. -2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn. -3rd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing. Activities -1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour. -2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics. -3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner. Going Out -1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home 5 times. -2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached. -3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood. At Home -1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby. -2nd baby: You spend a bit of every day watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby. -3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

- Resolved Question: Need advice from moms who get along with their mother-in-law PLEASE!?
(Fri, 14 Sep 2007 14:07:15 GMT)
Maternity clothes : My mother-in-law and I get on really well. I really don't want to look for reasons to dislike her, I just want to know when is she interfering and when is she just trying to help? I'm pregnant with my first child and as any mother I am nervous and unsure of what to expect, my own mother, my strong support system lives far now, so sometimes I feel pretty much alone. My husband is absolutely great and supports me 100% and will tell his mother NO if she offers to do things I don't want her to do! He hates doing this and says his mom is just trying to help, so I don't push him too much but know he's always on my side. Things that my mom-in-law does and says: Don't buy this, it's crap we'll look for a decent one, measure your cot then I'll have bedding made, don't buy maternity clothes, it's a waste of money. I just ignore her in a nice way but is she interfering or helping, am I over reacting? Will it get worse when the baby is born? Thank you, I need advice from real mommies! :)

- Resolved Question: 34 weeks and no weight gain?
(Wed, 12 Sep 2007 22:15:31 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I am now 34 weeks pregnant and I have not gained any weight at all. The baby measures in at 36 weeks according to my doctor but I do not look as if I am even pregnant. It hurts with every movement he makes. Is this because I have not gained any weight and I am so small? I am very confused! I am still wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes I have not needed to buy anything maternity. My doctor doesn't seem to be worried but I am. Advice please!!!! I am considered to be over weight this is my 3rd pregnancy and I weigh 215lbs.
- Resolved Question: What would happen if men got pregnant?
(Wed, 12 Sep 2007 20:20:42 GMT)
Maternity clothes : * Maternity leave would last two years....with full pay. * There would be a cure for stretch marks. * Natural childbirth would become obsolete. * Morning sickness would rank as the nation's #1 health problem. * All methods of birth control would be 100% effective. * Children would be kept in the hospital until toilet trained. * Men would be eager to talk about commitment. * They wouldn't think twins were so cute. * Sons would have to be home from dates by 10:00 PM. * Breifcases would be used as diaper bags. * Paternity suits would be a fashion line of clothes. * They'd stay in bed during the entire pregnancy. * Restaurants would include ice cream and pickles as main entree's.
- Voting Question: Maternity website question.?
(Wed, 12 Sep 2007 19:32:12 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I built a website to sell maternity clothing online. - Voting Question: Maternity clothes question help!!!!?
(Wed, 12 Sep 2007 14:53:36 GMT)
Maternity clothes : So I'm barely going to be four months pregnant first time and the bras i own are getting too tight and leaving marks when I take them off. But at the store yesterday the next cup up apparently is still too big! What can I do? I was thinking of sports bras but those push breasts in and so I think that may be a problem with the whole growth thing too. Any suggestions? And another question, I'm somewhat busty, getting bigger of course and the milk won't even come in for a while. I'm a large C/small D naturally. Should I be expecting more growth spurts throughout the actual pregnancy before the milk even comes in? And if any of your were around my size how big did you get while breastfeeding? Thanks girls!
- Resolved Question: Does anyone know where I can find cheap nice maternity clothes?
(Tue, 11 Sep 2007 04:06:52 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I looked at Wal-Mart and they are all huge. I'm only 4 mths but I know I'm growing a stomach I can't fit into my jeans anymore lol. I did find some nice cheap maternity clothes at a store around here called Ross, but they all look more like dressy clothes than every day clothes. All I'm looking for is some jeans that i can wear as every day. Can someone tell me where I can find something like that? Every website I looked at on the internet w/ Maternity clothes has jeans at like no less than 40 dollars and I don't want to pay that much for a pair of jeans that I'm only going to be wear for 5 more mths. Well in pants it depends before I was pregnant I was anywhere between an 11 and a 13. But now who knows. I did buy a pair of pants that were XL but not no number sizes for maternity.

- Resolved Question: Anyone know where to find sexy maternity clothes?

Maternity clothes : My wife is pregnant but wants to look pretty
- Resolved Question: what the hell?
(Wed, 05 Sep 2007 13:31:32 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I am so pissed right now. I just returned to my hell hole from maternity leave and was determined to find a job while off and never turn back but that didn't happen... they basically harassed me and degraded me the whole time i was pregnant about anything from my clothes to my hair. They wrote me up on several occasions and then shredded the write ups when i threatened to go to the EEOC. All information was fabricated. Well... I told myself that I would come back, wait it out, find a new job... well I have been looking and have found NOTHING no one will call me back... I have good experience, good references. Well heres the icing on the cake... the worst part about all of this is that day to day I have about 1 hour of work to do per day. the other 8 hours I am sitting staring at the highway through the window. Well the girl that took over my spot when I went on leave was hired to do data entry for 15 hours per week! WHAT THE HELL. Why didn't they give those duties to me??? I know this isn't really the spot for this kind of question but whenever i put them anywhere else, i don't get answers!! What would you all do in my sit. I want to confront my boss and tell her how mad I am that they hired someone for 15 hours of work when she knows damn well I have nothing to do. I am way too emotional... sitting here thinking about this situation just makes me want to cry and go home and be with my baby. I just don't know what to do. I would love some advice! I WANT OUT! I have a small apartment thats definately not big enoughtfor home daycare!!!

Maternity clothes : buy maternity clothes. i heard you can so i once tried that when my one of sims were pregnant but there was only everyday wear and underwear, and bathign suits.no maternity wear to buy. and also is there a cheat that allows you to let your sims wear everyday clothes when there pregnant.
- Resolved Question: does anybody have the same problem as me when they buy clothes?
(Mon, 03 Sep 2007 14:00:21 GMT)
Maternity clothes : ok now it seems that the clothes they seem to be making nowadays for us teenage girls all seem to be designed for flat chested girls....i swear i went to five different places the other day and could find only two tops that actually fit me and id say my chest is not even that large! im definetely not flat but im not huge anyway...and the problem is if i go a size bigger i end up looking like im wearing maternity wear... this situation sucks so much it makes buying clothes so difficult and the requires a tailoring job with every purchase....its such a waste of time and money.. so here is the deal there must be other girls who arent pin thin with boobs and a rather skinnier waist...how do u BUY CLOTHES FOR YOURSELF NOWADAYS? oh yeah and the neck is always too big and i am sick and tired of buying just t-shirts.....i need to get something more stylish which proves to be the toughest thing inthe world. SHOPPING MAKES ME FEEL FAT!! my waist is really not the problem the thing is im pretty slim around the ribcage- like a 34B/C i can even go 32 and on top of that im petite....

(Sat, 01 Sep 2007 19:18:02 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I didn't know which section to post this in but I just had my baby 11 days ago and I was given a post partum band that they sell in maternity stores. I was wondering when can I start to use it? Is it safe to use it now? I am asking because I was told to wear loose clothing at first, but they didn't tell me how long. Have any of you used this post partum band? Did you like it?? Thanks for the answers in advance.

- Resolved Question: Are there any Maternity clothes out there with some real style?
(Sat, 01 Sep 2007 04:47:37 GMT)
Maternity clothes : Baby doll tops are cute and all but I need a bit more variety, Im black obviously and I dont want to sound racist or whateva but I would like to find clothes that are a bit more my style. Something for black people because when I walk into a maternity store, everything looks like a bunch of bad coloring schemes. I dont wanna look like Im wearing my mothers curtains, I know Im pregnant and comfort matters, but dang, I still wanna be cute!

(Sat, 01 Sep 2007 02:39:43 GMT)
Maternity clothes : When did you first wear maternity clothes? When did you start showing? Where did you get most of them?
- Voting Question: I am 23 weeks pregnant and have gained 10 lbs so far in my boobs and belly. Maternity pants dont look right?
(Fri, 31 Aug 2007 13:53:32 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I was thinking of buying those waistband extenders for some jeans. I tried on a bigger size in jeans yesterday and they looked great but when I sit down they are uncomfortable. Do those extender things really work? And if so, which ones? The button/loop one looks too small and then theres the big elastic thing that goes over the whole belly (but does that really hold up unbottoned pants?) I would like to fit some of my old clothes and bigger new jeans but not if it will hurt the baby. Tell me your experience with these things and how many weeks were you?
- Resolved Question: Showing already?
(Fri, 31 Aug 2007 03:09:48 GMT)

(Thu, 30 Aug 2007 16:35:19 GMT)
Maternity clothes : Bella bands are highly recommended by many. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one for the plus sized woman? I'm also having trouble finding nice, but affordable plus sized maternity clothes. Any ideas?
- Voting Question: Not a question really.. just expressing some happiness!!?
(Thu, 30 Aug 2007 02:43:13 GMT)
Maternity clothes : I just got home from the mall and bought my first two maternity outfits!! You don't understand how exciting this is for me! I'm 30 weeks pregnant and have been wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans with a hair tye looped through the button hole. It is SO hard to find small maternity clothes. I wear a size 1 in regular clothes and even the xs at Old Navy was too big on me. Anywho.. I found some pants that are slightly loose.. but a hell of a lot more comfy than regular jeans :D

- Resolved Question: (funny) If men got pregnant?
(Wed, 29 Aug 2007 05:56:47 GMT)
Maternity clothes : 1. Maternity leave would last two years... with full pay. 2. There would be a cure for stretch marks. 3. Natural childbirth would become obsolete. 4. Morning sickness would rank as the nation's #1 health problem. 5. All methods of birth control would be 100% effective. 6. Children would be kept in the hospital until toilet trained. 7. Men would be eager to talk about commitment. 8. They wouldn't think twins were so cute. 9. Sons would have to be home from dates by 10:00 PM. 10. Briefcases would be used as diaper bags. 11. Paternity suits would be a fashion line of clothes. 12. They'd stay in bed during the entire pregnancy. 13. Restaurants would include ice cream and pickles as main entree's. 14. Women would rule the world.
- Resolved Question: Pregnant girls look cute?
(Wed, 29 Aug 2007 05:09:23 GMT)
Maternity clothes : They sent me to a maternity clinic to see a doctor, and there are so many pregnant women there! And they all looked so good, wearing nice clothes and their hair all prettily done. Some were in these high wasted dresses, with frills or flowers, and some wore tight dresses with stripes, and all showed off their legs! I thought that they would be all fat and with puffy legs, puffy bloaty faces covered with pigment spots, damaged hair sticking out of a bun (as they say not to dye or cut it or something), and fat huge hands, throwing tantrums because they were "hormonal". And wearing huge uniform sacks as clothing, with big bags like for shopping, full of strange stuff. Why, all they had was a bump, and they were normal everywhere else and could be in a fashion show. Is it, then, possible to look good when pregnant?
